Research conducted at the University of Montpellier (UM) marks a new milestone in the fight against malaria: thanks to Plasmo detect, an app developed by researcher Grégoire Pasquier, it is now possible to identify the type of parasite and the severity of the infection in just a few seconds, using a simple blood smear photographed with a smartphone.

A major breakthrough in diagnostics in the hardest-hit areas, driven by innovation in Montpellier and supported by the Montpellier Innovation Booster program.
