Plasmo detect: diagnosing malaria with a single click, or almost...

Research conducted at the University of Montpellier (UM) has reached a new milestone in the fight against malaria: thanks to Plasmo detect, an application developed by researcher Grégoire Pasquier, it is now possible to identify the type of parasite and the severity of the infection in a matter of seconds, using a simple blood smear photographed with a smartphone.

A major breakthrough for diagnosis in the most affected areas, driven by innovation in Montpellier and supported by the Montpellier Innovation Booster program.
