Terratis, the startup that wanted to nip the problem in the bud
Founded in 2024 by Clélia Oliva, Terratis develops the production of sterilized tiger mosquitoes to reduce the population ofAedes albopictus. Based on Clélia Oliva's thesis conducted at theIRD in Réunion, the start-up is supported by the Initium and the Montpellier University Innovation Cluster.
In 2026, a pilot bio-plant will be operational to deploy the technology in two communities and a campground, with an industrial site planned by 2028 to increase production.
